The 2030M MCMA (Multi-Cell Micro-transducer Array) planar speakers from FPS are the largest of all the MCMA transducers. The 2030M is perfect for high-end in-wall, in-ceiling applications. Some automotive applications are relevant too but digital signage, POS, and commercial intercom and evacuation systems are greatly benefiting by this speakers clarity, SPL and audible range.

All MCMA transducers are passive so external amplification is required. The 2030M speakers handle up to 125 watts RMS (250 watts max) at 6 ohms. The 2030M is the largest MCMA transducer available with almost 150 square inches of surface area the planar effect is significant. FPS builds all their MCMA speakers by embedding an array of voice coils directly into the diaphragm that correspond to an array of powerful neodymium magnets. The 2030M speakers have an impressive 600 voice coils and 600 corresponding magnets.

Some of the benefits of using the 2030M speaker over a conventional cone speaker with similar specifications are; significantly less mounting depth and back volume is required, MCMA have minimal acoustic feedback, much faster transient response, dipole capability and high resistance to water and temperature.
